The Gunflint Lake Unit lies along the southeast shore of Gunflint Lake, near the U.S./Canada border and adjacent to the BWCAW. The area’s most stunning feature is the 30-foot high Bridal Falls, which can be reached via a trail from Gunflint Lake.

According to the Forest Service, there are three known species of rare plants found within the unit.
