Lake Jeanette Unit
Approximate Acreage: 1,933
Percent Federal Ownership: 100%
The Lake Jeanette Unit is north of the Echo Trail and abuts the
BWCAW. The area is excellent habitat for deer, grouse, bear, and
moose and is a popular hunting destination in the fall.
The north shore of Lake Jeanette, which serves as the unit’s
southern boundary, is pristine and serene. Apart from Lake Jeanette,
there are more than 60 acres of small wetlands in the area. The
forest is mixed, with spruce, aspen, birch, and tamarack.
