The Lima Mountain Unit lies west of the Gunflint Trail and is adjacent to the BWCAW. The unit boasts a scenic view of the surrounding area from Lima Mountain, Minnesota’s fourth-highest point.

The area includes portions of Poplar Creek, Brule River, and four small lakes: Lima, Sled, Fiddle, and Dislocation. The Lima Mountain Unit also provides access to the Morgan Lake and Ram Lake BWCAW entry points. The Lima Mountain trail and the Ram Lake and Morgan Lake portages offer solitude and quiet.

The area’s mixed forest provides interesting opportunities for birdwatching.
