What's at Stake Make a Difference

Whereas America was once a wild frontier, today less than five percent of our country is protected as wilderness; less than two percent excluding Alaska. Americans are concerned. More than six in 10 Americans believe there is not enough wilderness protected for future generations.

In the Upper Midwest, we know we’re blessed to live near a wild tract of boreal forest and glacial lakes. Border lakes, canoe country, north woods…whatever you call it, it’s uniquely American and uniquely Minnesotan.

That’s why 83 percent of Minnesotans are united in saying they want to protect Minnesota’s roadless areas. From generation to generation, we want to protect the areas where we hike, hunt, camp, fish and paddle.
